Royal Ascot descends into chaos as violent brawl breaks out in front of stunned punters

A violent brawl erupted between two suited racegoers at Royal Ascot today, leaving one man bloodied after being knocked to the ground during the prestigious racing event.

The shocking incident occurred on day four of the Berkshire races as temperatures soared to 28C, with the altercation captured on video that has since emerged online.

Two young men in well-tailored suits were filmed viciously swinging punches at one another in front of horrified attendees.

The fight ended when one man plummeted to the ground after being struck, hitting the concrete floor head first.

The pair gripped each other whilst trading blows, with shocked spectators heard shouting "Stop, stop, boys" as they attempted to intervene.

The brief but fierce exchange saw both men wildly swinging their arms in attempts to land punches.

After being knocked down, the bloodied racegoer wiped his face and stained his cream trousers with blood as he appeared to yell at his opponent.

Witnesses described seeing the injured man's head smash against the concrete floor during the fall.

The motive for the brawl remains unclear, with the incident appearing particularly out of place at the prestigious racecourse.

The incident occurred during a day of high-profile racing that featured two prestigious Group 1 showdowns - the Commonwealth Cup and the Coronation Stakes - each carrying a £650,000 prize.

King Charles and Queen Camilla led the royal procession in the first carriage, accompanied by The Lord and Lady Cavendish of Furness.

The royal pageantry continued with distinguished guests including Sheikh Hamad Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Lord and Lady Lloyd Webber, and legendary trainer Willie Mullins.

Racegoers had been braving blazing sunshine throughout the afternoon, with many dressed in their finest millinery and summer wear despite the scorching conditions.

The day's programme also included the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes and the Group 3 Albany Stakes.
